5:2 Diet

Well, as this blog evidences, I have gone through many "diets" and none of them ever work.
I am now once again to fat for my old fat pants and my new fat pants are tight.
I weigh now what I did at nine months pregnant in each of my pregnancies.
Ugh.
So, now I am reading about the 5:2 diet that a friend told me about.
I really wish that you could lose weight from reading about diets and get fit from reading about exercise.  I would be thin and in great shape!
On the 5:2 diet you eat whatever you usually eat for 5 days.
But, for two days of the week, you only eat 500 calories or 25% of what should be your normal food intake for your height and weight.
Since I am short, my "fast" days should probably be less than 500 calories a day, but I am going to ignore that right now.
Also, counting calories is MATH - and I really do not like math.
I got the myfitnesspal app on my phone, but it does not really do exactly what I need.  I don't eat things that lend themselves to counting calories in a simple way.

So, I thought today would be a good "fast" day since I work this evening.
Nights are my worst times for eating properly.
I have not read the whole book yet, and after doing so, I may change what I eat more.

Today, I had coffee w/ half and half and vanilla stevia in it for breakfast.
I suppose I should measure the amount of half and half I use in order to have an accurate idea of calories.  I am going to guess 2 Tablespoons because that is what they list on the box of half and half and it is probably close to what I use.
That is 40 calories.
For snack, I had a banana.
Estimate 90 calories.
I had salad - with lots of stuff which would be too difficult to calculate so I took 130 calories that was listed as a salad w/ chicken on the app.
In my salad was: lettuce, chard, a little bit of carrots, cherry tomatoes, two or three strawberries, blueberries, some other veggies that were in the salad bag and the dressing was the juice of half of a lemon, some red wine vinegar and a bit of homemade oil and vinegar salad dressing.
I did not have chicken on it, instead, I had an egg white.
And I was still hungry.  Imagine that.  So, I ate all of the leftover spaghetti squash with some no sugar marinara sauce and estimated it on the app as 126 calories.
That may or may not all be correct.
That puts me at 386 calories meaning I only have 114 calories left for the night.
That does not sound great, but I will be at work, so perhaps it won't be so bad.
I will take a salad to work.
I had salad w/ a bit of turkey lunchmeat in it.
It probably went a bit above the 114 calories.
I was very hungry and had a headache and rather grumpy before dinner.
